After defeating the villainous Dr. Siddhant Arya, and bringing his father Rohit back from the dead, Krrish continued fighting against evil and saving innocent lives. Now Krishna is living a happily married life with Priya, while Rohit is using his scientific brilliance to benefit society. And Krrish is everyone's favorite superhero saviour. Unknown to them, a dark force is growing in another part of the world. Kaal, an evil genius, is selfishly misusing his powers to spread fear, death and destruction. And he is being assisted by an army of very dangerous beings, which he has created himself. Not long after Kaal's plans are put into action, both Rohit and Krrish find themselves faced with a crisis of epic proportions, which only they can resolve, together. But when they finally cross paths with Kaal and his army, neither of them is prepared for what lies ahead.

Taran Adarsh of Bollywood Hungama gave the film 4.5 out of 5 stars and stated that "the film has all the ingredients that make a splendid superhero film, besides being Rakesh Roshan's most accomplished work so far." Madhureeta Mukherjee of Times of India gave it 4.5 stars while commenting "For sheer vision, bravado and superlative execution, this one soars to new orbits. Latch on to this cape for an exhilarating ride." Raedita Tandan of Filmfare awarded it 4 out of 5 stars, remarking "Hats off to Rakesh Roshan for dreaming big and actually pulling off this risky proposition. Its not perfect. Krrish 3 opened to magnificent response across the country in multiplexes with more than 80 percent occupancy as well as around 90-100 percent attendees at single screens. According to Box Office India, first day collections of all versions were estimated at INR204.1 million (US$3.1 million). The film nett. grossed around INR188.1 million (US$2.9 million), with its (Tamil) and (Telugu) dubbed versions have collected approximately INR15.0 million (US$230,000) nett on the first day. Krrish 3 (Hindi) grossed INR150.5 million (US$2.3 million) nett on its second day. Box Office India estimated the first weekend collection of INR530 million (US$8.1 million), with around INR494.7 million (US$7.6 million) nett for its original version, while the dubbed versions grossed another INR45 million (US$690,000) nett approx. The film also recorded the sixth highest opening weekend worldwide as it collected INR920.0 million (US$14 million) gross. The first Monday business of the Hindi version was estimated at INR315.0 million (US$4.8 million), taking its four-day total to INR805.0 million (US$12 million) and set a new record for the highest single day collection ever, overtaking the previous record held by Chennai Express.
